Diamond Saw Blades
The right diamond saw blade depends on one thing: the material you cut. Porcelain and ceramic tile need a thin continuous rim like the TILE LEOPARD. Granite and hard stone call for a turbo rim. Concrete, brick, and block are the job of a segmented blade like the CONSTRUCTION RACCOON. All PRODIAMANT diamond saw blades fit standard US angle grinders and tile saws with a 7/8" arbor and included 5/8" reducer. Pick the blade that matches your material, not your machine.
Which Blade for Which Material
Match the rim to the material. That is the whole decision.
- TILE LEOPARD – a thin continuous rim for porcelain, ceramic, and glazed tile. The closed rim cuts slower but leaves a clean edge with minimal chipping.
- TURBO PANTHER – a turbo rim for granite and other hard stone. The serrated turbo rim clears debris faster than a continuous rim while keeping the cut edge tight.
- CONSTRUCTION RACCOON – a segmented rim for concrete, brick, and block. The gullets between segments move dust out and keep the blade cool during fast, aggressive cuts.
If a job mixes materials, carry two blades and swap. A segmented blade chips tile. A continuous rim glazes over in cured concrete. There is no single blade that does both well.
Arbor and Machine Fit
PRODIAMANT diamond saw blades use the standard 7/8" arbor and ship with a 5/8" reducer ring, so they mount on common US angle grinders and tile saws without extra adapters. Before mounting any blade, compare the maximum RPM printed on the blade with the no-load speed of your machine. The blade rating must be equal to or higher than the machine speed. Never run a blade above its rated RPM, and never remove the guard to make a larger blade fit.
Wet or Dry Cutting
All three blades cut dry on an angle grinder. Work in intervals: cut, back off, let the blade run free for a few seconds to cool. Continuous dry cutting overheats the rim and shortens blade life. For long cuts in tile or stone, run the blade wet on a tile saw – water cools the rim and improves cut quality. On concrete and masonry there is a second reason to control dust: OSHA’s silica rule (29 CFR 1926.1153) requires water delivery or vacuum dust collection for most saw work on US jobsites. Plan water or a vacuum before you start the cut, not after.
